Baystate Health is hiring Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) / Health Unit Coordinators (HUCs) for our Med/Surg units at Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield, MA !
This unique opportunity combines hands-on patient care with unit coordination and administrative support, allowing you to play an important role in both patient care and the daily operations of the nursing unit.

The Patient Care Technician / Health Unit Coordinator Will:
• Provide compassionate patient care, assisting with daily activities, mobility, hygiene, and comfort.
• Monitor and document vital signs, intake/output, and changes in patient condition.
• Assist with patient safety, treatments, procedures, specimen collection, phlebotomy, and EKGs as trained and authorized.
• Support unit operations through communication, coordination, and administrative tasks.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, high-quality care.

Schedule Details
• Job Type: Full-Time, Part-Time & Per Diem
• Shift: Multiple Shifts – Days, Evenings & Nights
• Hours: Vary by position
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Holiday availability required

Required Skills
• High School Diploma or GED
• BLS CPR Certification through the American Heart Association
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
• Ability to maintain professionalism in a fast-paced healthcare environment

Preferred Qualifications & Skills
• Previous patient care experience in long-term care, specialty care, or acute care
• PCT or CNA training
• Previous unit coordination, administrative, or hospital experience
• Familiarity with phlebotomy, EKGs, or other clinical support tasks

Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.
