Job Description:
• Assists licensed clinical staff in providing safe, effective patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Provides patient care and clinical support within the scope of paramedic training, certification, applicable protocols, and regulatory requirements.
• Assists with emergency patient assessment, treatment, monitoring, specimen collection, transport, and documentation as directed.
• Supports patient flow by preparing rooms, stocking supplies, transporting patients, and assisting with procedures as appropriate.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, emergency responders, and members of the healthcare team.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and ready work environment by following infection prevention, safety, and departmental standards.
• Documents patient care activities, observations, and interventions accurately and timely.
• Delivers compassionate customer service to patients and families.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Ability to assess, treat, and care for patients to the level of certification [Required]
• Ability to maintain a professional and calm presence under the most critical situations [Required]
• Ability to determine the nature of patient conditions and assess whether patients have pre-existing medical conditions [Required]
• Ability to identify and treat life-threatening conditions within the paramedic's field of practice [Required]
• Must be able to read, write, and speak conversational English [Required]
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]
• Demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively [Required]
• Must have the ability to react calmly and effectively in the most critical situations [Required]
• Knowledge to identify patient acuity levels [Required]
• Ability to utilize and adapt to state-of-the-art technology, computer systems, and computer applications [Required]
• Effective oral and written communication [Required]
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and others of diverse backgrounds [Required]
• Ability to multi-task efficiently in a fast pace, high patient volume environment [Required]
• Strong critical thinking skills [Required]

Education:
High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
Associate [Preferred]
Work Experience:
1+ related work experience [Preferred]
Licenses and Certifications:
• Licensed Paramedic (PARA) [Required]
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Required]
• National Incident Management System FEMA Training (NIMS) [Preferred]

Pay Range:
$19.75 - $31.59
