Job description
The Palliative Care Chaplain is responsible for providing specialty spiritual care for hospitalized patients and families as they navigate serious illness and end of life care. They utilize knowledge and skills in Spiritual & Palliative Care to assist patients and families in faith based medical decision making, spiritual distress, and spiritual counseling. PC Chaplains educate PC Team members on primary spiritual care, language and knowledge to provide culturally appropriate person-centered care to patients and families. PC Chaplain also engages in teaching residents, fellows, medical students, etc. on best practices when providing spiritual care in a healthcare setting.
Education
Master's Degree in Divinity or religious study equivalency from recognized seminary Required
Non Degree Program Minimum 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education from ACPE Required
Experience
2 years experience in a healthcare setting Required
1 year of providing spiritual care at the end of life Preferred
Licenses
Board Cert Chaplain Preferred
