Nurse Technician (NT) – Surgery/Ortho/Trauma
Job Type: Full-time | Variable 12-hour shifts, 2 weekends per month with holiday rotation
Up to $5,000 bonus for eligible candidates

Join our Surgery/Orthopedics/Trauma Unit, where you will work alongside a skilled and compassionate healthcare team dedicated to providing exceptional care to patients recovering from surgical procedures, orthopedic conditions, and traumatic injuries. As a Nurse Technician, you will play an essential role in supporting nursing staff and the interdisciplinary care team while gaining valuable hands-on experience in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Our unit cares for adult and geriatric patients with a variety of surgical, orthopedic, and trauma-related conditions, including patients recovering from joint replacements, fractures, complex surgical procedures, and injuries requiring specialized care. Team members have the opportunity to expand their knowledge of post-operative recovery, mobility assistance, wound care support, pain management, and patient safety.
Working collaboratively with registered nurses, physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals, Nurse Technicians assist with daily patient care activities, monitor and document patient information, support mobility and rehabilitation efforts, and contribute to the implementation of individualized care plans. This role provides excellent exposure to acute care nursing practices while helping build a strong clinical foundation for future career growth.

How you’ll contribute
A Nurse Technician (NT) who excels in this role:
• Participates in the Patient Care Team’s delivery of personalized, efficient care with respect for patients' spiritual and cultural differences.
• Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, and cost in the delivery of patient care.
• Orients patients and families to the room and call bell.
• Upon admission, obtains initial vital signs, height, and weight.
• Records daily intake and output (I&O), vital signs, and food intake in the electronic medical record.
• Transports patients using appropriate methods in a safe and dignified manner while adhering to patient activity restrictions.
• Establishes positive relationships with patients and families and reports concerns accurately and concisely to appropriate care team members.

What we’re looking for
Applicants should possess a High School Diploma or GED. Additional requirements include:
• Completion of a Nurse Aide Program, experience in a related field, or willingness to complete provided on-the-job education and training.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to acquire within 3 months of hire.
• One year of acute care or one year of long-term care experience preferred.
• Certification preferred.
