Overview
Registered Nurse – Position Summary
The Registered Professional Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care by assessing patients, identifying actual and potential health concerns, implementing appropriate nursing interventions, and evaluating outcomes to ensure optimal patient care.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
• Assess patients for actual and potential alterations in health.
• Develop and implement appropriate nursing interventions based on patient needs.
• Evaluate patient responses and modify interventions as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Involve patients, families, and significant others in the assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care whenever possible.
• Supervise and direct care provided by Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAPs) .
• Assign and delegate care to qualified members of the healthcare team.
• Coordinate care with other professional disciplines to support continuity and quality of care.
• Participate in unit-based activities that promote a positive and professional work environment.
• Advocate for patients and demonstrate autonomous and accountable nursing practice.
• Support the organization’s mission of excellent patient care through collaboration, innovation, trust, and professional nursing excellence.

Qualifications
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
Education
• BSN preferred at time of hire.
• Nurses hired without a BSN must obtain a BSN within three (3) years of hire .

Experience
• No specific minimum years of nursing experience stated.

Licensure
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida required.

Professional Certification
• Professional nursing board certification preferred at time of hire .
• Nurses hired without board certification must obtain certification:
• Within two (2) years of hire , or
• At the certification eligibility date if the certification requires more than two years of experience.

Motor Vehicle Requirement
• This position does not require operating a vehicle for an assigned business purpose .
