Optimus is looking for a full-time Nurse Manager to join our Stamford primary care clinic. Candidates should have at least three years' experience in a management or supervisory position and posess critical thinking skills, and ability to create positive motivation and have strong verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual Spanish is helpful, not required.
The Nurse Manager coordinates the primary care services provided to patients from diverse populations in a professional manner. Works with the Practice Manager, Director of Nursing, and the medical providers to ensure compliance with Optimus’ standards of care. Provides clinical and administrative support and functions as a resource and mentor for new staff and students assigned to their work site. Assists the Director of Nursing in ensuring that nursing staff follow the Nursing Practice Act in their delivery of comprehensive patient care with maintenance of strict confidentiality.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions of the Nurse Manager include but are not limited to:
• Promote and restore patients' health by implementing the nursing process; collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; provide patients with physical and psychological support; supervise assigned team members.
• Promote patients’ independence by establishing patient care goals; teach and respond to patients’ questions regarding their medical condition, medications, and self-care skills.
• Responsible for facilitating the clinical orientation for new hire onboarding; evaluate and complete the 90-day introductory and annual performance reviews for all clinical staff under his/her supervision.
• Participate in screening, hiring and promotion of staff.
• Ensure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measure health outcomes against patient care goals and standards; make or recommend necessary adjustments; follow nursing standards of care set by state board of nursing, state nurse practice act, and other governing agencies and regulating bodies such as DPH, CMS, HRSA and The Joint Commission.
• Report clinical and operational problems/issues that need to be addressed within the facility to the Practice Manager or Director of Nursing as soon as possible for immediate resolution.
• Collaborate with Practice Manager to keep clinical staff informed of any clinical and operational changes that need to be implemented.
• Work with providers to coordinate care for patients and to provide appropriate clinical support.
• Resolve patient concerns and/or complaints by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies.
• Monitor all tracking systems for patients’ results and ensure that all referrals/images are processed and tracked per company policy.
• Oversee tasks of the clinical staff and its timely completion.
• Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
Professional positive attitude, vision, understanding of customer service principals, trustworthiness, and excellent interpersonal skills to successfully accomplish tasks necessary to meet high standards of ethical and social responsibility required by this position.

• Proficient in using EMR; Epic desirable, knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PPT
EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited nursing program or University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
Compensation decisions are made in accordance with applicable federal and Connecticut equal-pay requirements. The final offer will be determined based on job-related factors, including relevant experience, education, specialized skills, scope of responsibilities, market conditions, and internal equity. The salary range does not guarantee placement at any specific point within the range.
