Begin your nursing career at the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center as a Full-Time Nurse Graduate .
Gain hands-on experience caring for orthopedic, joint replacement, & medical-surgical patients while learning alongside experienced nurses. Under direct Registered Nurse supervision, you’ll develop your assessment skills, recognize changes in patient condition, administer medications, & contribute to individualized care plans. You’ll also help patients & families understand their care as they prepare for recovery & discharge.

SCHEDULE:
• 3 × 12
• 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
• Call & rotating weekends, required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following duties outline the general scope and level of work performed and are not intended to be an exhaustive list.
• Provide safe, compassionate patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Perform patient assessments and reassessments, monitor changes in condition, and communicate findings to the nursing team.
• Assist in developing, implementing, and updating individualized nursing care plans.
• Administer medications and perform clinical procedures under direct RN supervision, following established safety protocols.
• Monitor patient comfort, assess pain levels, and evaluate responses to treatment and nursing interventions.
• Educate patients and families on medications, procedures, treatment plans, and available resources.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and responses to care.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and promote positive outcomes.
• Maintain patient safety, privacy, and confidentiality while adhering to hospital policies and professional nursing standards.
• Participate in required orientation, competency assessments, and professional development activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

LICENSURE & EXPERIENCE:
• Recent graduate of an accredited nursing program, required.
• Must successfully complete the NCLEX examination within 90 calendar days of graduation, required.
• Must obtain an active Maryland Registered Nurse (RN) license or valid multistate RN license through the Nurse Licensure Compact within 90 calendar days of graduation, required.
• Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, required.
• Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
• Nurse Graduates practice under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse until licensure and successful transition to a Clinical Nurse I role.

• Pay Rate: $40.54 per hour.
