Job Details
Responsibilities:
Operates Nuclear Medicine Equipment as directed by Physicians utilizing routine protocols and procedures according to established standards.
Perform required diagnostic Nuclear Medicine imaging studies according to established departmental protocols
Orders, receives, prepares and ensures quality of control of Radiopharmaceuticals and radioactive materials in accordance with NYS DOH Part 16 regulations.
Competent in administering Radiopharmaceuticals according to standard Nuclear Medicine practice including intravenous and oral administration as per protocol.
Maintains Nuclear Medicine equipment as per vendor specifications, performs all required quality control in accordance with NYS DOH regulations.
Perform daily area surveys of designated locations for Radioactive contamination at the end of each shift.
Perform required weekly wipe tests of designated locations to assess low level Radioactive contamination.
Calibrate and maintain Radioactive measuring equipment, including dose calibrator, well counter, and survey meters
Maintains all required departmental records
Prior to beginning any procedure, identifies the patients utilizing the dept’s two patient identifiers
Identifies patient pregnancy status and demonstrates proper pregnant patient management.
Positions and educates patient regarding procedures
Participates in radiation safety program and is an active member of the Radiation Safety Committee.
Proficiency in navigating PACS system to perform Quality Control, and ensure the integrity of acquired images
Proficient in the management of patient information via the Radiology Information System
Assures rooms are well stocked; and cleanliness of department maintained.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
NYSDOH Licensed; ARRT or NMTCB Certification; BLS Required- American Heart Association only accepted
Education: Graduated of an accredited School of Nuclear Medicine
Experience: Previous experience in Nuclear Medicine preferred
Salary Range
USD $44.42 - USD $54.61 /Hr.
This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
