The Mount Sinai Health System is currently seeking a full-time Nephrologist to join Mount Sinai Doctors Union Square!
Mount Sinai Downtown Union Square is a newly-renovated outpatient center, and a hub for primary and specialty care, diagnostic services, infusion center, and lab all in one convenient location in a vibrant community and easily accessible by public transportation. The space is located at 10 Union Square East at the heart of the Mount Sinai Downtown Network and near restaurants and shopping. Union Square is a wonderful example of New York City's diversity that is always bustling and full of energy. It not only contains a national historical landmark, but the area surrounding it is a fantastic spot to grab lunch, find a rare book, take in art for free or pick up some produce at the famous greenmarket.
The position includes a full-time academic appointment at Mount Sinai with rank and salary commensurate with training and experience. Mount Sinai has attractive benefits and retirement plans.

Responsibilities
• Provide administrative, clinical and teaching services for the Division of Nephrology.
• Serve as a supervising physician, of the nephrology inpatient consultation and ESRD service at MSWest and MSMorningside, designated by the Division Chief, and will be accountable for the quality of medical care provided to patients. The inpatient role includes weekday and weekend rounds, and collaboration with the inpatient nurse practitioner and teaching of internal medicine residents.
• Serve as an ambulatory specialty physician providing outpatient care for patients needing nephrology services under the auspices of the Medical Center’s Faculty Practice Plan. This will include evening and weekend assignments.
• Assure adequate participation in committees, and serve in future administrative roles, as designated by the Division Chief; including administrative functions to fully support efficient performance of the Division, Department and Medical Center in areas pertaining to your scope of responsibility.
• Provide leadership to both professional and non-professional staff aligned within the scope of responsibility.
• Be knowledgeable of, fully compliant with, and enforce all of the policies of the Medical Center and the Department.
• Promptly prepare high quality reports, and appraisals, or other documents requested by the Division Chief.
• Perform appropriate due diligence, in cooperation with division Chief and Medical Center administration in planning replacement or acquisition of equipment or technology.
• Comply with quality initiatives of the Division, Department and Medical Center

Qualifications
• Medical Degree from an Accredited University
• New York Medical License
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Nephrology
• Committed to Mount Sinai and the communities we serve
• Excellent communication, bedside manner, and organizational skills
• A strong work ethic and desire to participate in a team-oriented, performance-driven Health System

Compensation range from 279K to 402K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits).

Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialties, historical productivity, historical collections, and hospital/community need.
