Position Summary
• Operate magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment, computer systems, and image management platforms to perform high-quality MRI examinations.
• Select and adjust parameters and imaging options, understanding how these choices affect overall image quality and diagnostic accuracy.
• Maintain working knowledge of injection systems, patient care monitors, and other related imaging equipment.
• Demonstrate proficiency in venipuncture techniques and patient care skills appropriate for the safe administration of medications and contrast agents.
• Adhere to departmental policies, procedures, and established safety protocols.
• Effectively navigate online systems and resources pertinent to clinical and job responsibilities.

Responsibilities
• Availability to take scheduled call assignments, including weekends and holidays, as required by departmental needs.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Current certification and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) Recommended Skills:
• Proficiency in computer skills, including standard office applications.
• Strong verbal communication abilities to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Sound decision-making skills to support patient care and ensure safe, efficient clinical practices. Additional Skills Required:
• Communicates effectively with individuals across diverse age groups, cultural, educational, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Demonstrates proficiency in physical assessment techniques to support accurate clinical evaluations.
• Applies strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks accurately and efficiently in fast-paced settings.
• Utilizes computer systems effectively within the service line to document and access patient information.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills to assess situations, prioritize needs, and implement appropriate interventions.
• Maintains clinical and professional competencies appropriate to the care of age-specific patient populations.
• Contributes to a culture of safety by adhering to established policies, procedures, and clinical practice guidelines. Working Conditions:
• Potential exposure to any and/or all of the following: chemicals, hazardous materials, communicable diseases, blood and body fluids.
• Definite exposure to all types of energy and equipment that is consistent with the operation of an MRI system.
• Able to work rotating weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Ability to access entire facility; ability to communicate with other individuals; visual acuity; ability to lift and move patients; ability to withstand extensive standing, stooping, bending, squatting; ability to withstand long periods of sitting; ability to push/pull and operate heavy machines/equipment; ability to perform repetitive tasks.

Qualifications
The following qualifications are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this position: Education:
• Satisfactory completion of an acceptable MRI instruction program consisting of a minimum of 375 hours of instruction.
• Registered MRI Technologist
