Job Summary:

As a Mobile Crisis Specialist - QMHP, you’ll join our compassionate, collaborative team and provide critical support to individuals and families experiencing mental health crises. This role offers the opportunity to use your clinical skills in meaningful, real-time situations, work alongside community partners and first responders, strengthen your expertise in crisis intervention, connect people with life-changing resources, and help individuals move toward safety and stability. We’re looking for a calm, adaptable, compassionate professional with strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and the ability to make thoughtful decisions in rapidly changing situations.
In this mobile and on-call role, you’ll respond to crisis referrals by providing telephone and face-to-face assessments, evaluating risk, developing safety plans, and connecting individuals with the most appropriate level of care. You’ll collaborate with Crisis Services team members, law enforcement, emergency medical personnel, community partners, and internal programs to coordinate resources and support. You’ll also help individuals and families navigate behavioral health services, hospitalization when appropriate, and other community-based resources while maintaining timely and accurate documentation.

• Key Responsibilities: · Provide compassionate telephone and face-to-face crisis assessments for children and adults experiencing mental health crises · Assess risk, identify immediate needs, develop safety plans, and connect individuals and families with appropriate crisis and community resources · Coordinate access to crisis services, hospitalization when appropriate, and other resources designed to support individuals in the least restrictive environment · Collaborate with Crisis Services team members and provide consultation and support to members of the mobile crisis team as requested · Partner effectively with law enforcement and emergency medical personnel to support the safety and needs of individuals and families during crisis situations · Build strong working relationships with internal programs and external community partners to improve access, referrals, and continuity of care · Apply knowledge of mental health signs and symptoms, crisis intervention, custody and guardianship considerations, and involuntary commitment processes when assisting individuals and families · Maintain required on-call and mobile coverage according to the assigned work schedule · Complete timely and accurate documentation to support compliance and required reporting · Participate in scheduled meetings, conference calls, webinars, trainings, and individual and group supervision · Follow applicable agency, emergency, and corporate compliance procedures while providing high-quality crisis services
• Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications: · Master’s degree in a behavioral health or related field and completion of a practicum, OR one (1) year of experience in a behavioral health field · CPR/First Aid and CPI certification required · Prior to being removed from probationary status, must demonstrate competency in crisis intervention, safety and legal issues, and working effectively with law enforcement
• Additional Qualifications: · Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance · Strong knowledge and skills in crisis assessment, triage, intervention, and responding to suicidality · Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to establish positive relationships by telephone and through face-to-face interactions · Strong problem-solving, decision-making, clinical judgment, and time management skills · Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively as part of a crisis response team · Ability to remain adaptable and effective as client needs, priorities, and job demands change · Ability to take appropriate initiative, follow direction, and accept supervision · Proficiency with computers and electronic medical records
• Physical Requirements · Occasionally exert up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects · Perform repetitive hand, finger, and arm movements for typing and writing during the work shift · Sit for extended periods while also walking or standing for brief periods as needed · Perform work consistent with the physical demands of a sedentary position
