Overview
Responsibilities
Utilizes professional application of the principles, theories and techniques of Medical Technology to provide accurate and reliable laboratory test results to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Working knowledge of clinical lab procedures
Licensure, Registration, Certification:
Registry eligible
One of the following within 24 months of employment*:
• MT(ASCP): Medical Technologist certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathology.
• MT(AMT): Medical Technologist certified by the American Medical Technologists.
• MLS(ASCP): Medical Laboratory Scientist certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathology.
• MLS(AMT): Medical Laboratory Scientist certified by the American Medical Technologists.
• CS(ASCP): Specialist in Chemistry certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathology.
• C(ASCP): Technologist in Chemistry certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathology.
• MLT(FBCLP): Medical Laboratory Technician certified by the Florida Board of Clinical Laboratory Personnel.
• Specialist ASCP: approved Specialist certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology * If hired prior to 1/1/2004, only registry eligibility is required

Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology
Bachelor of Science in a Biological Science
Licensure, Registration, Certification:
MT(ASCP), MT(AMT)
