Job description

JOB SUMMARY
Conducts routine and complex tests for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease; and performs related duties; following established standards and practices. Assumes responsibility for problem solving; systems control; and instruction.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education
• Bachelor’s Degree or experience required by certification entity. Not required for MTs with Health & Human Services certification given prior to 1987.

Minimum Work Experience
• No previous experience.

Required Licenses/Certifications
• Completion of formal training program in an approved MT; MLS; or MLT program
• Registered as a MT(ASCP); MLS(ASCP);or MLT (ASCP) or equivalent.

Required Skills; Knowledge; and Abilities
• Compile statistics.
• Input data into computer programs.
• Maintain logs.
• Ability to use CRT and diagnostic equipment.
