Job description

Under the general supervision of the Director of Orthopedic Clinic, the Medical Assistant II assists the physician in the delivery of direct patient care in the outpatient setting. Obtains pre-authorizations and schedules patient appointments for diagnostic testing, assists physician's and physician assistant with patient calls and requests, as well as applying and removing casts as instructed by the physician.
The Medical Assistant II demonstrates professional communication and interpersonal skills, superior organizational skills, and be able to deal effectively with multiple demands.

Required Qualifications:
• Coursework/Training Graduation from accredited school that includes hands on training in clinical setting for medical assistants. And
• Coursework/Training Graduate of registered medical assistant apprenticeship program including phlebotomy license.
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
• Upon hire: Phlebotomy License
• 1 year Medical assistant experience in a hospital or clinic setting.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Upon hire: National Medical Assistant Certification
