OVERVIEW
The Medical Assistant will have both clinical and clerical skills and will rotate between clinical and clerical duties at various locations/departments based on organizational need. The position will support physicians and staff by rooming patients and assisting with minor procedures, scheduling tests, triaging calls, responding to medical requests, completing medical forms, and performing clinical and administrative duties related to patient care. The Medical Assistant will also answer, handle, and screen incoming telephone calls; schedule appointments and follow-up visits; direct callers to the appropriate person or department; schedule in-house testing; and ensure provider instructions and prescriptions are relayed/provided to the patient/family.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Location Coverage: Travel to and provide coverage at outlying locations as needed.
• Team & Workflow Support: Attend to provider, patient, and team needs related to patient care and clinic workflow; coordinate with other team members to support continuity of care, authorizations, and provider schedules; and perform other duties assigned to improve provider productivity and clinic operations.
• Supplies, Inventory & Clinic Readiness: Assist the MA Lead with ordering supplies and materials as needed; assist with or perform inventory and expiration-date checks; stock rooms; monitor supplies and equipment; and communicate needs to the appropriate team member.
• Telephone Triage & Care Coordination: Answer and triage telephone calls; address patient medical questions within scope; communicate provider instructions and prescriptions; serve as a liaison between patients, physicians, referring providers, hospitals, and other care partners; and follow up as directed.
• Scheduling & Patient Communication: Schedule appointments, follow-up visits, and in-house testing; coordinate provider schedules and monitor patient flow to support timely rooming and provider productivity.
• EMR & Clinical Documentation: Complete accurate EMR documentation, patient forms, consents, orders, and other required clinical documentation; all documentation must be entered into the patient chart, signed, and completed by the end of the business day.
• Chart Preparation & Documentation: Prepare and maintain patient charts by obtaining and organizing reports, labs, imaging, and other required information prior to appointments; pull and review imaging and prepare charts for physicians.
• Clinical Treatments & Patient Care Tasks: Perform clinical duties within scope and established practice protocols, including medication refills, suture removal, dressing changes, patient education, and other assigned patient-care activities.
• In-Office Procedures & Surgery Support: Set up and work alongside physicians during in-office surgeries and simple outpatient procedures; prepare procedure and recovery areas; ensure supplies and equipment are available; wrap and discharge patients from recovery according to established workflows and provider direction.
• Patient Care & Clinical Support: Room patients; obtain vital signs and medical histories; confirm visit information; assist physicians with patient care, minor procedures, and other clinical needs.
EDUCATION
• High school graduate.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or willing to obtain certification within 90 days of employment.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.

JOB DETAILS
• Job Type: Full-time, Monday through Friday.
• Schedule: Day shift; Hourly schedule may vary based on operational and patient-care needs.
• Work Location: Multiple Locations; Primary location North Canton.
