Overview
The Medical Assistant I maintains department patient care supplies, ensures timely flow of patients, and assists physicians and nurses to provide optimal care to patients and families.
Qualifications
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)American Heart Association (AHA);
DOT Certified Specimen Collector within 6 months - Department of Transportation (DOT)Department of Transportation (DOT);
Breath Alcohol Technician (BAT) within 6 months - Department of Transportation (DOT)Department of Transportation (DOT),
Education:
H.S. Diploma/GED (Required),
Responsibilities
Perform a variety of routine direct patient care duties to assist medical and nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients.Maintains patient care environment and supplies to ensure patient privacy and safety.Provides Patient Care: Accurately measures and records height, weight vital signs (temp, pulse, respiration, BP). Completes medication reconciliation. Assists providers with procedures and treatment. Performs audiometry, spirometry, respiratory mask fits, EKGs and phlebotomy. Performs ear washes and dressing changes. Performs drug and alcohol testing according to state and federal guidelines. Ensures documentation of care is complete and accurate. Provides support to nursing staff. Maintains Patient Care Environment: Orders, receives and stores supplies. Cleans and stocks exam rooms and procedure rooms. Maintain par level of supplies. Maintain Expiration Log of supplies and medications.

Compensation and Benefits
The compensation range for this position is $17.12per hour - $27.73per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
