Job Summary
First Physicians Group (FPG) is hiring Medical Assistants!
*Both experienced and entry-level Medical Assistants are encouraged to apply.
As a Clinical Care Coordinator I , you’ll work directly with patients and healthcare providers to support high-quality, day-to-day clinical care. Responsibilities may include:
• Escorting patients to exam rooms
• Preparing patients for examinations and procedures
• Taking and documenting vital signs
• Recording medical histories and current concerns
• Documenting provider notes, procedures, and patient instructions

Compensation:
$20.50 - $28.90/hour
Starting pay within this range is determined based on your years of Medical Assistant work experience , while also considering internal equity to support fair and consistent compensation across comparable positions.
Employee Referral Bonus
$750 referral bonus available! If a current employee referred you, be sure to include their name as your referral source when completing your application. This is required to qualify for the referral bonus.
Referral bonus eligibility requirements apply. Individuals who have previously worked for SMH are not eligible for the referral bonus.
Required Qualifications
There Are Multiple Ways to Qualify
You only need to meet ONE of the following three requirements:
Already certified?
Have an active CMA or RMA certification through an accepted organization such as AAMA, NHA, NCCT, AMT, AAH, or NAHP.
Have EMT license?
Have a current EMT license plus at least one year of Medical Assistant or clinical healthcare experience.
Already working as a Medical Assistant but not certified?
Must have at least one year of Medical Assistant work experience . You may qualify without current CMA/RMA certification, but you will be required to obtain an approved CMA or RMA certification within 12 months of hire .
Preferred Qualifications
• Prefer one (1) year of clinical experience in an outpatient physician’s office practice.
• Prefer experience with electronic practice management and electronic health record programs.
• Prefer the ability to demonstrate self-direction and initiative.
• Prefer demonstrated knowledge of electronic practice management and electronic health records software along with skill in all Microsoft office software programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point).

Mandatory Education
High School Diploma, GED or Certificate
Required License and Certs
• Require Basic Life Support/CPR certification; or must be obtained within thirty (30) days of hire/transfer date.

Preferred License and Certs
Accepted certifications include: CMA (AAMA), NHA, NCCT, RMA (AMT or AAH), and NRCMA (NAHP).
Work-Life Balance You’ll Appreciate
Most FPG Medical Assistant positions offer:
• Monday through Friday schedules
• 8-hour shifts
• Office hours generally between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM
• No holidays
• No weekends

Schedules may vary depending on the practice and location.
North Port Exception:
FPG Internal Medicine & Pediatrics office in North Port is currently our only location with extended evening and weekend hours, including:
• Three evenings per week until 7:30 PM
• Saturdays until 12:30 PM
• Shift differential for eligible evening and weekend hours
