Position: HVAC Mechanic
Position Summary: Under direct supervision of Plant Engineering Supervisor will needs of customers by performing a variety of service-related activities to maintain the facility and all building systems.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Accountable for creating an environment and culture that focuses on fulfilling the organizations mission, vision and values.
• Performs all duties as a journeyman HVAC mechanic
• Services and Repairs: Mechanical/refrigeration equipment. E.g. Chillers, air handlers, split systems, refrigerators, ice machines, water heaters, etc.
• Controls: working knowledge of the building automation system with the ability to navigate the system, check set points, temperature and humidity, make adjustments as needed
• Electrical trouble shooting as related to mechanical systems
• Plumbing repairs as related to mechanical systems
• Ability to read and interrupt electrical diagrams
• Work independently without supervision
• All other assigned duties

Qualifications
Education, Training, Experience and Licenses/Registrations Required:
• High School Diploma or G.E.D. with technical or trade courses required
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a journeyman HVAC mechanic
• EPA Certification
• Previous experience in hospital environment preferred

Physical and Sensory Requirements:
• Ability to read, write, and converse in English
• Ability to perform lifting (minimum of 50 pounds), bending, grasping, fine hand/eye coordination, pushing and pulling, work with hands above head, work above ground on scaffolds, ladders, etc., standing and/or sitting for prolonged periods
• Ability to tolerate high noise levels for prolonged periods
• Ability to understand and practice safety requirements in work involving exposure to hazardous chemicals, biological materials, dangerous equipment
• Ability to respond to pager, radio, telephone, and other auditory stimulation
• Ability to discriminate color
• Ability to perform basic math functions and measurements
