The Laboratory Technician performs a wide variety of duties and responsibilities in a manner that places emphasis on quality of care and customer service. They collaborate to ensure a patient-centered approach to care. As part of the essential functions of this role, the Laboratory Technician:
• Handles laboratory specimens utilizing appropriate blood/body fluid precautions
• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection on patients of all ages.
• Collect, label, process, and prepare laboratory specimens according to established protocols.
• Verify patient identity using approved identification procedures.
• Ensure specimens are properly stored and handled prior to shipment.
• Process specimens utilizing centrifuges and other laboratory equipment as appropriate.
• Facilitates lab and diagnostic tests at the request of the ordering provider
• Maintains exam rooms according to clinic’s policy; sanitizes rooms and equipment between patients to ensure infection control standards are maintained

Qualified candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent; CMA(AAMA) certification preferred; current BLS/CPR certification with prior healthcare and EMR (Medent) experience preferred; awareness of and sensitivity to the issues and health disparities faced by underserved populations is essential
Job type: Full-time
Schedule: We are hiring two positions; one at our Hertel Ave. location, Monday and Wednesday 11:30-7:30, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 9:30-5:30 and the other Monday-Friday, 9-5 that will float between our Buffalo area clinics
Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Required Experience: Prior healthcare and EMR (Medent) preferred but not required
