Overview
Riverside Healthcare is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Imaging Support Services Associate to join our Radiology team in Kankakee, Illinois. This role is vital to the smooth operation of our imaging services, providing essential administrative, clerical, and logistical support. The Imaging Support Services Associate will be responsible for managing imaging requests, preparing images for various purposes, and supporting patient and staff needs, all while ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulations. Demonstrates flexibility with assignments within professional scope/duties/licensure.
Essential Duties
• Patient and Staff Support:
• Greet patients, assist with check-in, and ensure they are prepared for imaging appointments.
• Greet and escort patients to and from scan rooms using AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, and Thank You) principles.
• Transport patients to and from radiology and ensure they are present in the procedure room as scheduled.
• Image Management:
• Handle image requests in system, on film, or CD, following confidentiality protocols.
• Import/export images, log details, and digitize film.
• Digitize and upload film images into PACS, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
• Documentation and Compliance:
• Prepare images and invoices for legal requests, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete.
• Retrieve, create, and merge reports, images, and other patient data, ensuring that all necessary images and reports are available in a timely manner.
• Comply with DNV and HIPAA standards and hospital policies, particularly regarding patient information and infection control.
• Anonymize images for meetings such as Trauma, Tumor Board, and Lung Nodule, ensuring patient confidentiality.
• Clerical and Administrative Duties:
• Performing registration protocols, ensuring accurate entry of imaging orders, reports, and documentation into the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Make and direct physician phone call for the radiologist. Call stat results to physician offices.
• Maintain a secure, clean, and healthy work environment by adhering to hospital standards and local, state, and federal regulations.
• Check supplies inventory regularly and order supplies as necessary to ensure that the department is fully stocked.
• Collaboration and Communication:
• Establish and maintain effective communication with patients, coworkers, and other healthcare professionals to improve service quality and patient satisfaction.
• Provide mentorship or support to occupational therapy interns or new staff as needed.

Non-essential Duties
• Participate in continuing education and training to improve knowledge and skills related to imaging support services.
• Assist with special projects and other tasks as directed.\"

Responsibilities
Preferred Experience
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in a radiology or imaging department, is preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems, such as EPIC, is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other standard office software.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Required Licensure/Education
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Preferred Education
• Additional coursework or certification in healthcare administration or a related field is preferred.
