• POSITION SUMMARY
• Position Summary:
• The Histology Section Manager is responsible for the 24 hour function of the Histology/Pathology section of the Laboratory. The Manager is responsible for processing specimens in the histology section and is considered an expert in the area. Provides the mechanism for ensuring accurate test results, issue resolution, orientation, and ongoing competency of personnel. The Histology Section Manager promotes staff development and acts as the lab resource person for the section. Promotes professional collaboration at all levels. Maintains active communication and strengthens collaborative relationships among the pathologists, medical staff, nursing units, the histology section, and other lab staff.
• POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum Education
• Associates degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related field
• Minimum Experience
• Required clinical training in an approved Histology program
• Five years experience as a Histotechnician
• Two years supervisory experience preferred
• Required Registration/License/Certification
• HT(ASCP)
