Graphic Design Specialist

Job description

The Graphic Design Specialist supports marketing communications strategic goals and initiatives for BHC through graphic design. This position ensures creative projects are delivered to internal and external stakeholders to provide a positive image to the community.
• Maintains responsibility for graphic design, including print ads, brochures, publications, reports and general patient information materials.
• Works with marketing leads and supports workflow design processes.
• Supports workflow design, print, and distribution process through project management software.
• Researches graphic design industry trends to recommend and implement design innovations and advancements in technological capabilities.
• Supports corporate brand integrity.
• Oversees the correct use of branding standards in all internal and external promotions and publications.
• Works with digital marketing manager, media buyer, and media outlets to traffic ads and meet schedules.
• Works with marketing director and managers to generate and produce ideas for corporate communications, publications, and promotions.
• Guides/works with freelance designers, photographers and videographers when outsourcing required.
• Ensures that objectives are met within budgetary guidelines and deadlines.
• Provides some photography and photo editing. Assists multimedia manager with images and editing.
• Collaborates with the print shop to ensure clear communication regarding print requests and Virtual Print Shop. Identifies cost-saving opportunities and provides recommendations for printing and production.
• Assist in other duties as assigned to support the operational needs of the department and organization.
• May be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.

Minimum Education
• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
• Bachelors Degree in a related field heavily preferred or Associates Degree with 5 years of Graphic Design experience preferred.

Minimum Work Experience
• 1-3 years Experience as a graphic designer Required

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
• Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator).
• Proficient in photography, illustration and image acquisition.
• Ability to successfully multitask several projects simultaneously; exceptional design skills.
• Excellent organization, planning and time management skills.
• Flexibility to accommodate evening and weekend work.
