Responsibilities
The fetal monitor nurse is a member of the collaborative care team who is responsible for providing continuous vigilance and tele-nursing focused on early prevention/intervention of abnormal fetal heart rate tracing within Mercy Medical Center, Downtown campus, to decrease fetal/neonatal morbidity and mortality. The following features govern the role of the Fetal Monitoring RN: patient advocacy, proactive, continuous monitoring prevention, evidenced-based care, telecommunication, clinical decision support, humane, compassionate ethical care.
Shift: 48 Hours Biweekly; Nights
Requirements
• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and successfully completed the State Board of Nursing Licensure Exam
• BSN Preferred
• Must possess 5 years of current labor and delivery and/or EFM interpretation experience
• Must obtain 20 Contact hours per year, fifty percent of which must be clinically focused. Academic course credits may be used on a1:1 credit hour exchange.
• RN License
• Current Healthcare Provider CPR/BLS
• External Fetal Monitoring Certification upon hire
