Overview

We are hiring a Perinatal Education Specialist to support and educate expectant families throughout the perinatal journey. In this role, you will provide education through childbirth classes, infant care classes, and inpatient education, helping families feel informed and prepared before and after the birth of their child. You will also support community outreach efforts through tours, support groups, and department events.
What you'll do
• Lead childbirth education classes for expectant families.
• Provide infant care education and inpatient antepartum education to patients and families.
• Conduct tours of the Women's Pavilion at WakeMed campuses.
• Facilitate support groups and participate in community and department events.
• Serve as a trusted educational resource for families during the perinatal period.

Who you are
• Experienced in patient, family, or community education, preferably in maternal, infant, or women's health.
• Comfortable presenting information to groups and engaging with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to educate patients and families using clear, supportive, and compassionate teaching methods.
• Passionate about helping families feel informed and confident throughout pregnancy, birth, and early infant care.
