Responsibilities
Mountain Youth Academy is nestled in Mountain City, Tennessee which is conveniently located near Johnson City, TN, Boone, NC, and Abingdon, VA. We are a 120-bed residential treatment facility and assist in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide range of behavioral health issues for our young adolescent patients. We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and safety-focused Driver to provide transportation support for patients and assist with the safe and efficient operation of hospital transportation services.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
• Safely transport patients to and from approved appointments, facilities, and other designated locations.
• Follow all hospital policies and procedures regarding patient transportation and safety.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly hospital vehicle.
• Assist patients with entering and exiting the vehicle as needed.
• Provide respectful, professional, and compassionate interactions with patients.
• Maintain appropriate patient confidentiality at all times.
• Complete required transportation logs, mileage records, and other documentation.
• Conduct routine vehicle safety checks and report maintenance concerns promptly.
• Communicate effectively with nursing staff, administration, and other hospital departments.
• Follow all applicable traffic laws and hospital transportation protocols.
• Respond appropriately to behavioral or emotional concerns while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Job Requirements/Special Skills:
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Previous healthcare, behavioral health, transportation, or patient-care experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work well with patients, families, and staff.
• Ability to maintain professionalism in stressful or challenging situations.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Must be able to meet all requirements related to hospital safety, background screening, and patient care.
