Summary:
Play an important role in providing a positive dining experience for patients, staff, and visitors. This position oversees patient meal and tray delivery, including meals, nourishment, and floor stock, while ensuring food selections align with physician-ordered diets. You’ll also assist with food preparation and cooking to provide safe, high-quality meals throughout the hospital.

Responsibilities:
• Supports the organization’s visions, values, and strategies. Acts as a team member in department activities, including participating in educational meetings and in-services. May also serve as the department’s quality assurance in supporting policies and procedures, including but not limited to food monitoring, temperature taking, plate presentation, and diet compliance.
• Participates as an active member of the Food Service team to provide exceptional customer service to patients. Participates in the assembly and delivery of patient/customer meals in accordance with established criteria and procedures. During delivery, demonstrates CARES behaviors and steps from the Customer Loyalty Bundle (AIDET, HEAT) to all those encountered. Adheres to policies and procedures established by the hospital, department, environmental, State, and JCAHO regulations.
• Acts as an information liaison between Food Service, patients, and dietitians.
• Maintains and supports sanitation and quality standards as required by department policy and regulatory agencies. This includes maintaining department records, reports, and files as required, such as temperature logs, sanitation logs, refrigeration logs, production records, and late tray reports. Tasks may also include using a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment, including grinders, slicers, mixers, and blenders. Operates the dishwasher to ensure all dishes and utensils are clean.
