Job description

Responsible for providing professional care for patients with implantable cardiac devices including pacemakers, defibrillators and loop recorders in accordance with physicians' orders. Provides for the well-being of patients by assessing condition, providing treatments and documents progress and other observations in the patient chart.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
Required:
• Associate’s degree in science or related field

Preferred:
• Bachelor’s degree in science or related field
• Experience working with cardiac devices

Certificates and Licenses:
Required:
• BLS certification required or must complete BLS certification with in the first two weeks of employment.

Preferred:
• ACLS certification

Responsibilities
• Perform interrogations, evaluations, and reprogramming of all manufacturers’ models of cardiac rhythm management devices as well as the ability to troubleshoot in collaboration with cardiology and electrophysiology specialists.
• Provides patient care at the primary office as well as any satellite clinics.
• Review remote, trans-telephonic, and in-office evaluations and completes documentation within EMR.
• Manages the remote monitoring program, including scheduling, downloading, and initial analysis of clinical device transmissions.
• Triage phone calls and complete programming orders according to established protocols.
• Provide patients with education about their devices and device procedures.
• Serves as a primary liaison between patients, staff and physicians.
• Performs device programming and troubleshooting for hospital patients as well as device cardio-versions and post op checks on scheduled in-patient procedures.
• Collaborates with Cath Lab on all implant scheduling and physician orders for procedures, and assist during device implant procedures by performing testing and programming.
• Completes all necessary documentation within EMR according to hospital and clinic protocols.

Infection Control: This position will include initial and ongoing training in dealing with infection control. Training could include, but is not limited to, blood-borne pathogens, bodily fluids, and biohazardous materials, as it applies to your daily work environment.
