Dental Hygienist- Part-Time, Flexible hours
Open Cities Health Center located in the Rondo neighborhood of St. Paul and has been serving patients for more than 54 years. As a Federally Qualified Healthcare Center, Open Cities is committed to providing excellent care to underserved patients. OCHC is an NHSC Loan Repayment Program site.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the supervision of the Dental Director, performs clinical dental hygiene and related services, off-site outreach programs, and other related work as assigned by the Dental Director.
DUTIES:
• Performs dental cleanings including scaling, polishing, and root planing. Screens patients for medical conditions, oral pathology, and periodontal disease.
• Works closely with the assigned dentist to chart examination notes.
• Capture clinically diagnostic x-rays.
• Charts in dental electronic records.
• Follow OSHA protocols.
• Maintains performance standards.
• Attend staff meetings and work as a positive team member.
• Work with interpreters or interpretive services to effectively communicate with patients.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
• Good clinical skills in adults with mild to moderate periodontal conditions and capturing diagnostic x-rays.
• Ability to recognize pathology and perform charting.
• Ability to effectively communicate with people of cultural and socioeconomic diversity.
• Ability to interact positively with staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of an accredited dental hygiene course and Dental Hygiene licensure in Minnesota.
BLS certification.
