DENTAL DIRECTOR FOR LARGEST FQHC IN RHODE ISLAND
Join the leadership of a growing dental clinic in the heart of Providence with a dedicated team of 50 professionals including dentists, registered dental hygienists and dental assistants. Providence Community Health Centers is committed to serving a diverse and multicultural patient base from underserved communities across Providence, RI.
Position Summary:
• The Dental Director provides clinical leadership and oversigh t for the organization’s dental program, ensuring safe, ethical, evidence-based, and patient-centered oral healthcare across pediatric, perinatal, adult, and integrated care services.
• This role serves as the primary clinical authority for dental standards , quality assurance, provider supervision, clinical protocols, peer review, infection prevention, and interdisciplinary dental-medical collaboration.
• The Dental Director maintains an active patient care schedule while guiding workforce development, academic partnerships, regulatory compliance, strategic planning, community oral health initiatives, and providing direct patient care consistent with organizational expectations and clinical privileges.
• The Dental Director works collaboratively with Operations Director of Dental & Specialty Services, and reports to the Chief Medical Officer.

Essential skills and Qualifications:
• Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD), from an accredited school of dentistry
• Licensed to practice dentistry in the state of Rhode Island.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a practicing clinician.
• Minimum of three (3) years as senior or director-level management in clinic setting
• Experience in pediatric dentistry preferred.
• Experience in a primary family care setting, familiarity with FQHC operations
• Experience with healthcare information systems, electronic health records, and practice management systems such as Epic and MiPacs.
• Maintains ongoing professional education and certification as mandated by specialty board or state regulation.
