Job Description:
• FT Days
• $10,000.00 Sign on Bonus
• This position is eligible for Operating Room (OR) shift differentials.
• Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedures.
• Prepares and labels solutions and medications used, reporting amounts for charting.
• Prepares back table and mayo stand, anticipating the needs of the surgeon using the surgeon’s preference card.
• Provides supplies or equipment upon request for the surgeon, nurses, and/or anesthesiologist.
• Holds retractors or instruments, sponges or suctions operative site, applies electrocautery to clamps on bleeders, cuts suture material, connects drains to suction apparatus, and applies dressings to a wound.
• Assists with draping sterile field and covers operating and instrument tables.
• Performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation, before incision is closed, and as needed.
• Delivers surgical specimens/cultures from operative field to circulating nurse.
• Maintains the highest standard of sterile technique during procedures by checking package integrity, indicators, and opening procedures.
• Prepares and sterilizes supplies and equipment used in surgical procedures, reviews and replaces supplies in the surgical case following a procedure, and discards expired medications per protocol.
• Assists with terminal cleaning of the operating room, puts equipment, supplies, and instruments away as required, and assists in prepping the room for the next patient.
• Uses physician preference card to identify supplies and equipment needed for scheduled surgical or emergency procedures and updates preference cards with necessary changes.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Basic computer skills [Required]
• Experience Cardiovascular (CV) / Hearts [Strongly Preferred]

Education:
• High School Grad or Equiv. [Required]

Field of Study:
• Completion of an approved Surgical Technician program

Work Experience:
• Experience in a surgical setting

Licenses and Certifications:
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

$27.15 - $50.50
