Job Summary
• Provide supervisory support to leads, laboratory assistants, and clerks.
• Help maintain appropriate staffing levels and ensure staff receive required training.
• Communicate and coordinate with laboratory supervisors and physician’s offices.
• Develop and maintain outpatient phlebotomy policies and procedures.
• Oversee outpatient phlebotomy inventory and help ensure needed supplies are available.
• Coordinate staff development and support ongoing training.
• Provide staff development and support ongoing training.
• Provide staff with the tools, information, and resources needed to perform their jobs successfully.
• Assist the supervisor with general management and day-to-day operational functions.
• Promote cooperation, communication, and teamwork across the department.

Qualifications
• Communication Skills and Teamwork Focus
• Phlebotomy Skills (Adult, Geriatric, and Pediatric) Required
• Ability to train phlebotomists from entry-level proficiency to outpatient standards.
• Previous day-to-day leadership experience.

Education
• High school diploma or equivalent GED.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment.

Experience
• Minimum of one year experience in a high volume Laboratory.
• Experience using Hospital and Laboratory Information Systems, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel required.
• Leadership Experience
• Customer Service Experience
• Scheduling Experience

(Above requirements can be met by equivalent combination of education and experience)
Compensation/Benefits
• $19.56-$31.94/hr depending on previous work experience.
