The MDC Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator serves as the operational and clinical liaison between Specialty Pharmacy and Multidisciplinary Clinical (MDC) teams. This position coordinates clinic-based pharmacy services, supports protocol development and implementation, fosters provider relationships, ensures workflow consistency, and optimizes patient access to specialty medications. The coordinator works collaboratively with pharmacists, providers, nursing staff, pharmacy technicians, and operational leaders to improve patient outcomes, clinic efficiency, and service line growth.Your Exceptional Skills and Qualifications
• Lead the development, implementation, and continuous quality improvement of clinical pharmacy services and protocols within MDC practices
• Support pharmacist-managed clinical services and participate in accreditation readiness activities
• Act as the primary pharmacy liaison for MDC providers, clinic leadership, and various network and hospital committees.
• Foster strong relationships with clinical and administrative teams, communicate the clinical vision to staff, and develop pharmacy solutions to improve patient care and medication access
• Evaluate and optimize workflows for referrals, refills, prior authorizations, and medication access, collaborating with leadership to enhance efficiency and reduce barriers to care
• Assist with staffing plans, coordinate the implementation of new workflows and technologies, and support the optimization of pharmacy-related systems
• Contribute to the analysis and development of strategies to meet drug cost targets
• Collect and analyze pharmaceutical intervention data, performance metrics, and key performance indicators to identify trends and inform strategic decision-making
• Actively participate in performance improvement programs and develop strategic plans and clinical initiatives that support network and organizational goals, including identifying opportunities for expansion into new specialty clinics
• Develop and maintain clinical staff competencies, educational materials related to specialty medications and workflows, and provide comprehensive training for new pharmacy staff, residents, and students
• Serve as a clinical resource and provide education to patients/caregivers, healthcare professionals, and the public
• Doctor of Pharmacy degree or equivalent advanced degree in pharmacy. (Required)
• Licensed as a Pharmacist by the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency (IPLA)) (preferred or within 6 months from hire)
• 3+ years ambulatory care, specialty pharmacy, or multidisciplinary clinic experience (preferred)
• Successful completion of an ASHP accredited Pharmacy PGY1 Residency and PGY2 Pharmacy Residency or equivalent experience (required)
