Hoag Irvine is seeking compassionate and skilled Clinical Nurses (RN) to join the Med Surg Digestive Unit as part of our growing Irvine campus. This internal opportunity is ideal for nurses who are passionate about medical-surgical nursing, value teamwork, and are committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

• 24 bed inpatient Med Surg Digestive specialty unit
• Cares for patients with gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, and general medical-surgical conditions

Role Overview
As a Clinical Nurse – Med Surg Digestive, you will provide direct inpatient nursing care in accordance with the California Nurse Practice Act and Hoag Patient Care Services standards. You will collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate care for patients throughout their hospitalization.

• Provide comprehensive patient assessments, nursing interventions, and documentation
• Administer medications and IV therapies safely, monitoring indications and patient responses
• Communicate changes in patient condition to physicians and nursing leadership
• Implement and maintain the patient Plan of Care (POC)
• Educate patients and families, assessing learning needs and documenting understanding
• Participate in discharge planning and care transitions
• Respond appropriately to emergency situations
• Adhere to hospital policies, infection prevention practices, and safety standards
• Participate in quality improvement and shared governance activities

Required:
• Active California RN license
• Minimum 1 year of high-acuity inpatient nursing experience
• BLS & ACLS certification (AHA)
• EKG competency
• BSN (or active enrollment per Hoag policy)

Preferred:
• Medical-surgical nursing experience, ideally with a digestive or GI patient population
• Strong communication, collaboration, and critical-thinking skills
• Sub ICU training (or willingness to train)
