Job description

The Department of Clinical Laboratories at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full time Clinical Lab Technologist / TH Clinical Laboratory Technologist 2, Blood Bank. The successful candidate will:
• Perform all aspects of blood bank testing, including but not limited to ABO/Rh Typing, Crossmatching, antibody detection, and identification with appropriate follow-ups.
• Maintain quality control of equipment and reagents.
• Manage meticulous record-keeping and utilizes follow-up skills.
• Perform additional job-related duties and responsibilities as required and/or as needed.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent in Medical Technology, Physical, or Biological Science.
• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist Licensure.

Preferred Qualifications
• ASCP certification.
• Prior blood bank work experience.
