Job description
The Ithaca College School of Health Sciences & Human Performance (HSHP) invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, multi-year renewable notice (non-tenure) appointment as a Clinical Instructor/Clinical Assistant Professor of Speech-Language Pathology and Online Director of Clinical Education to begin December 1, 2026, or as soon as possible after that date. This position can be fully remote. The successful candidate will teach assigned online classes in speech-language pathology and serve as the Online Director of Clinical Education for our online master’s in Speech-Language Pathology, participating in departmental, school, and college service; and advising students as needed. Scholarly activity is required per departmental policy for clinical faculty.
The Online Director of Clinical Education will be responsible for managing all aspects of clinical placements for online students in the M.S. degree program, in cooperation with the Experiential Learning Specialist for HSHP and the graduate chair of the online modality. The position requires the ability to manage databases, maintain records, coordinate with external partners, meet deadlines, and problem-solve under tight timelines. The Online Director of Clinical Education serves as the supervisor and liaison for all practicum experiences for the online graduate modality. Required Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in communication disorders
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in speech-language pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in provision of clinical service
• At least 1 year of clinical supervisory experience
• Minimum of 2 hours continuing education in clinical supervision, per ASHA requirements
• Potential for excellence in teaching
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience in academic teaching in postsecondary setting
• Supervising clinical placements
• Experience and expertise in online teaching
• Administrative experience
• Experience in supporting diversity, equity, inclusion, access and belonging initiatives.
Salary Range:
$73,000-$81,000, commensurate with experience and rank
