Title
Clinic Phlebotomist
Summary
Collects, processes, and performs clinical laboratory testing on specimens from neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Is responsible for quality assurance and instrument maintenance. While the Phlebotomist reports directly to the Clinical Laboratory Supervisor, day-to-day technical guidance and workflow oversight are provided by Medical Laboratory Scientists and Technicians.
Compensation
We are committed to providing wage ranges for all open positions. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on experience, education and internal equity considerations. The hourly wage range for this position is $18.02–$25.43. This range reflects the base pay for this position.
Key Accountabilities
• Collects blood specimens and evaluates the acceptability of both blood and non-blood specimens for laboratory testing. Ensure proper patient identification, labeling, and handling of specimens to maintain specimen integrity.
• Accessions and processes specimens to prepare them for laboratory testing.
• Performs waived and select moderate complexity laboratory tests under supervision, in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Reports patient test results according to established laboratory policies.
• Conducts quality control procedures and routine instrument performance checks.
• Performs scheduled preventative maintenance on laboratory instruments.
• Completes clerical and administrative tasks related to laboratory operations, including data entry, filing, and documentation.
• Provides technical guidance and workflow oversight to phlebotomists.
• Adheres to Universal Precautions and standard infection control practices when handling specimens and interacting with patients.

Qualifications
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Must be enrolled in NH+C RQI program for BLS certification and complete the requirements within 90 days of enrollment. Must remain current (complete quarterly assignments prior to the end of each calendar quarter).
• Must be able to speak, read, and write English proficiently to ensure safe and effective communication in a healthcare environment.
• Graduate of an accredited Phlebotomy program, preferred
• Previous experience or education in a health-related field, preferred
• Good interpersonal communication skills, preferred
• Ability to receive and carry out directions, preferred
Schedule
• 64 hours per pay period
• Four days per week; day off will vary based on department scheduling needs
• Start times vary between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. , with corresponding end times of 4:00 p.m. or 5:00 p.m.
• May have opportunities to pick up additional shifts to cover sick calls or PTO, as available
