Responsibilities
Under the direction of the unit charge nurse, the Certified Sterile Processing Technician responsibilities are to collect, clean, disinfect, inspect and sterilize surgical instruments and other medical equipment. Maintain code carts, chest carts, urology carts. Clean hospital wide equipment as needed.

Qualifications
Education
Required: High School Diploma/GED AND completion of formal central service technician or surgery technologist program.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
Required: Certification in either central service or surgery technology.
Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience
Required: Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
Preferred: Previous central service, surgery, or patient care work experience is desirable.
