Job description
Looking for meaningful outpatient women’s health care, strong team support, and a schedule that respects your life outside of work? Shenandoah Community Health (SCH), a Federally Qualified Health Center and Primary Care Medical Home, is seeking an experienced Certified Nurse Midwife or Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner to join our Women’s Health team in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. This is an outpatient position focused on obstetric, prenatal, postpartum, and gynecologic care in a mission-driven, community-based setting. The position offers a predictable four- or five-day workweek, no evenings or weekends, low-volume call, and the opportunity to make a lasting impact in the lives of patients and families.
At SCH, providers deliver the kind of care that drew many clinicians to medicine in the first place: relationship-centered, team-based, and focused on whole-person health. Our Women’s Health providers care for patients across the lifespan with support from an integrated FQHC care team that includes behavioral health, pharmacy, care management, interpreters, health educators, and social work resources.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Master’s degree or higher from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Certified Nurse Midwife program
• Current certification as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner or Certified Nurse Midwife
• Valid license, or eligibility for licensure, to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in West Virginia
• Current DEA registration, or eligibility to obtain DEA registration in West Virginia
• Minimum of three years of women’s health provider experience
• All qualifications must be met by the start date
Advantages of working in our FQHC setting include:
• Professional liability coverage under the Federal Tort Claims Act
• Potential eligibility for federal or state loan repayment programs
• Comprehensive benefits, including vacation, sick, and CME leave; medical, life, and long-term disability insurance; tax-deferred annuity; CME allotment; and support for license and DEA fees
• Interview expense support, relocation assistance, and a sign-on bonus
• Professional collaboration with 50+ multidisciplinary clinicians across women’s health, family practice, pediatrics, internal medicine, psychiatry, psychotherapy, pharmacy, and oral health, supporting continuity of care for patients
• On-site pharmacy, lab, and radiology services
• Located in the rolling hills of the Northern Shenandoah Valley, Martinsburg, West Virginia offers a growing community with arts, theatre, music, recreation, and historic resources, while remaining within driving distance of Washington, DC and Baltimore, Maryland.
