Job description

The Cardiovascular Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic testing and assisting with interventional procedures in Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology Labs. This role supports a range of procedures, from coronary and peripheral interventions to electrophysiology studies and device implants. The Technologist operates diagnostic equipment, manages patient care, and ensures a safe and efficient workflow. On-call duties and preceptoring new employees are also part of the role.
• Perform diagnostic testing and assist with interventional procedures as directed by physicians.
• Operate diagnostic equipment and peripheral devices to obtain optimal test results.
• Manage patient care during diagnostic procedures, ensuring quality standards are met.
• Maintain supplies and report any equipment issues to the appropriate staff.
• Support Interventionists by scrubbing in during procedures and documenting events.
• Actively participate in preceptoring new employees and clinical education activities.
• Provide quality customer service and contribute to performance improvement efforts.
• Demonstrate teamwork and cooperation within the organization.
• Ensure compliance with hospital safety protocols and infection control measures.
• Graduate of an accredited radiological technologist school.
• 1-2 years of interventional cardiology experience, with peripheral experience preferred.
• Licensed by the State of [State Name], Department of Environmental Protection.
• BLS/HCP certification is required, with registry or registry eligibility through the American Registry of Radiology Technologist.
• ACLS certification is required within 12 months of hire or transfer.
• Ability to multitask with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Clinical Applications is preferred, with training provided for incumbents.
• State License and ARRT certifications must be renewed annually to maintain employment.
• Physical abilities to perform job duties, including lifting, standing, and manual dexterity.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams.
