Job description

Responsible for medication order verification, therapy management, preparation, dispensing, consultation and supervision of Pharmacy Technicians. Participates in education, research, and quality improvement activities.
Receives direction from Pharmacy supervisor and other members of the Pharmacy Leadership Team. Gives direction to Pharmacy Residents, Technicians, Interns and Students. Works cooperatively with Pharmacy management, other Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians and support staff, patients, Physicians, Nurses, and other members of the healthcare team.
Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy (Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
Other Requirements: Commitment to excellence, accuracy, attention to detail and teamwork. Ability to communicate effectively, work collaboratively with others, organize time well, solve problems, and work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications: Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Residency. Board Certification through the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS). Experience working in a progressive academic medical center in an applicable practice area. Demonstration of leadership and team building skills. History of scholarly activities including publication and scientific meeting presentations. Experience and / or interest in clinical teaching.
Licensure: Current Florida Pharmacist license or eligibility with licensure by the Florida Board of Pharmacy within 60 days of start of employment.
