About the Role
Our clinical teams can only care for patients if the right supplies are in the right place at the right time. As an Assistant Buyer, you will help make that happen. You will work alongside our Senior Buyers on purchasing, sourcing, and replenishment, and you will own daily EDI order confirmations and exceptions so orders keep moving.
This role is a strong fit for someone with a year or two of purchasing or supply chain experience who wants to grow into a buyer role in healthcare.
What You Will Do
• Own purchase order confirmations and resolve daily exceptions and rejections in the EDI system so orders arrive on time
• Support the Senior Buyers with purchasing, strategic sourcing, replenishment, and contract work
• Keep item costs and pricing accurate in the purchasing system, including checking against GPO contract pricing
• Help identify cost savings and support supplier selection
• Follow up with vendors on order issues, backorders, and pricing discrepancies
• Answer order questions from departments and work with them to find solutions when items are unavailable
• Handle all information in line with HIPAA and confidentiality standards

What You Bring
• 1 to 2 years of experience as an assistant buyer, purchasing clerk, or in a related supply chain role, OR an associate or bachelor degree in business or a related field
• Working knowledge of standard purchasing and supply chain procedures
• Comfort with Microsoft Office, including working in Excel
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through
• Clear, professional communication with vendors, peers, and clinical teams
• Ability to manage your own workload and priorities with minimal supervision

Nice to Have
• Supply chain or purchasing experience in a hospital or healthcare setting
• Experience with a purchasing or ERP system, an EDI platform, or a GPO contract portal
