Associate Manager - AI
- Rochester, MN
Job description
The Associate Manager - AI drives the execution, coordination, and operational delivery of assigned enterprise artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives. This role owns day-to-day execution across the AI solution lifecycle — from intake and readiness through deployment, integration into clinical and operational workflows with the same pace, urgency, and delivery discipline expected across the AI program.
Working with directors, product leaders, data science and machine-learning teams, and clinical and business partners, the Associate Manager - AI partners with technical, product and internal customers to drive a focused set of AI initiatives end to end, maintaining focus on governance, timelines, and value realization. The Associate Manager - AI is expected to independently move assigned initiatives to completion.
The role requires working fluency — not hands-on model building — across the following:
• Understanding of the AI solution lifecycle: data pipelines and readiness, model development, validation, deployment, and monitoring.
• Familiarity with AI governance and responsible-AI practices.
• Awareness of healthcare AI regulatory and safety considerations (e.g., FDA Software-as-a-Medical-Device concepts, clinical validation, algorithm monitoring) and PHI/HIPAA data handling.
• Familiarity with predictive/traditional ML and generative AI / large language models, including common use cases, limitations, and evaluation approaches.
• Comfort partnering with product, analyst, data science, ML engineering, and MLOps teams, and evaluating AI platforms, tools, and vendor solutions.
This vacancy is not eligible for sponsorship/ we will not sponsor or transfer visas for this position. Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.
Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience in program management, operations, digital health, data/analytics, or technology environments — including exposure to AI/ML, data science, or advanced analytics — required. Master's degree, preferred. Demonstrated experience driving and coordinating AI, analytics, or technology initiatives in a matrixed organization preferred.
