JOB SUMMARY
• The APP is responsible for providing health care to patients in the hospital or office setting. Works in consultation; cooperation; and coordination through a collaborative physician. Functions according to the established standards and practices of medicine for Advanced Practice Nurse/Nurse Practitioner in the State of Texas.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum Education
• Master’s Degree
• Minimum Work Experience
• No previous experience
• Required Licenses/Certifications
• BSN; MSN; or ANP licensed in the state of Texas
• BLS
• Required Skills; Knowledge; and Abilities
• Knowledge of medical practices; terminology; and reimbursement policies
• Thorough knowledge of patient triage; diagnosis; and evidenced-based care
• Knowledge in overcoming barriers from diagnosis to treatment including: financial/economic; language/culture; transportation issues
• Skill in planning; organizing; delegating; and supervising
• Skill in evaluating the effectiveness of existing methods and procedures
• Skill in problem solving
• Skill in verbal and written communication
• Skill in speaking engagements and other activities that raise awareness to diseases and disease processes
• Ability to read; interpret; and apply policies and procedures
• Ability to set priorities among multiple requests
• Ability to interact with patients; medical and administrative staff; and the public effectively
