Job description
JOB SUMMARY
The APP is responsible for providing health care to patients in the hospital or office setting. Works in consultation; cooperation; and coordination through a collaborative physician. Functions according to the established standards and practices of medicine for Advanced Practice Nurse/Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistants in the State of Texas.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education
• Master’s Degree
Minimum Work Experience
• No previous experience
Required Licenses/Certifications
• BSN; MSN; ANP; or PA licensed in the state of Texas
• BLS
Required Skills; Knowledge; and Abilities
• Knowledge of medical practices; terminology; and reimbursement policies
• Thorough knowledge of patient triage; diagnosis and evidenced-based care
• Knowledge in overcoming barriers from diagnosis to treatment including: financial/economic; language/culture; transportation issues
• Skill in planning; organizing; delegating; and supervising.
• Skill in evaluating the effectiveness of existing methods and procedures.
• Skill in problem solving
• Skill in verbal and written communication
• Skill in speaking engagements and other activities that raise awareness to diseases and disease processes.
• Ability to read; interpret and apply policies and procedures.
• Ability to set priorities among multiple requests
• Ability to interact with patients; medical and administrative staff; and the public effectively
