Job description
Description
The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai affiliated with NYC Health + Hospitals/Queens, serving the culturally diverse community of Southeast Queens, is seeking a full-time board-certified Adult Psychiatrist for our Adult Outpatient clinic including the newest satellite program Bridge to Home (BTH).
This is an innovative program developed by NYC Health + Hospitals that will provide treatment, social and professional skill building and temporary housing to patients with serious mental illness who are ready for discharge from the hospital but do not have immediate access to stable housing. It is a voluntary program where all guests are offered onsite mental health treatment and comprehensive support in a home-like environment. The program aims to keep individuals discharged from the hospital on a path towards sustained success, with the goal of reducing emergency room visits and inpatient hospitalizations, decreasing street homelessness and reliance on shelters, and ultimately moving into permanent housing.

This includes assessments, treatment planning, psychopharmacology, and team consultation with a focus on recovery-oriented and trauma informed care. This position will play a pivotal role in leading the multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic and person-centered care, participate in case conferences, treatment team meetings and clinical supervision. Occasional after-hours or weekend consultations by phone, if needed, to support onsite staff.
The Behavioral Health Program provides a full continuum of care including services in Ambulatory Adult and Child Mental Health programs, on-site school programs, Adult Partial Hospital Program, Addiction Services Program, Adult Inpatient Units, Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program, Mobile Crisis Unit, ACT teams and consultative services in other areas of the hospital center. The Department collaborates with numerous schools in providing training programs in the areas of medicine, nursing, psychology and social work. CME is provided through the weekly Grand Rounds Program.
