Position Summary
The Leave & Workers' Compensation Administrator is the subject matter expert for leave of absence, ADA accommodation, and workers' compensation programs across CharterCARE. You'll own complex and escalated cases from start to finish, partner with Safety, vendors, carriers, and legal counsel, and use data to show leadership where programs are working and where they need to improve.
What You'll Do
Leave Administration & ADA Compliance
• Oversee all leave of absence programs, ensuring compliance with federal, Rhode Island, and CharterCARE requirements.
• Serve as the subject matter expert on complex leave cases and escalated employee situations.
• Lead the ADA interactive process for complex accommodation requests and advise managers on appropriate workplace accommodations.
• Track legislative and regulatory changes affecting leave and ADA compliance, and recommend policy and process updates.

Workers' Compensation Management
• Manage complex, high-risk, litigated, and escalated workers' compensation claims through resolution.
• Partner with the Safety Manager on injury management, return-to-work, workplace safety initiatives, and claim reduction strategies.
• Act as the primary liaison between HR, safety leadership, insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and legal counsel.
• Present workers' compensation metrics, claim trends, and significant case updates to senior leadership and safety committees.

Program Management & Analytics
• Manage absence management vendor relationships to resolve escalations, hold service levels, and improve program effectiveness.
• Build and maintain leave, accommodation, and workers' compensation reports, dashboards, and program metrics.
• Analyze data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and turn findings into clear recommendations for leadership.
• Develop and maintain policies, procedures, employee communications, and training materials for leave, accommodations, and workers' compensation.
• Coach HR team members and managers on leave administration, ADA compliance, and workers' compensation matters.

What We're Looking For
Required
• 5+ years of progressive experience administering leave of absence programs, ADA accommodations, and workers' compensation claims.
• Advanced knowledge of FMLA, ADA, state leave laws, workers' compensation administration, return-to-work programs, and wage replacement benefits.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex, litigated, and high-risk workers' compensation claims.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, reporting) and experience pulling, validating, and interpreting data from HRIS, leave management, and claims systems.
• Proven ability to build executive-level dashboards and presentations that translate complex data into clear business recommendations.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence outcomes, manage competing priorities, and drive process improvement.

Preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience with Rhode Island leave programs, including TDI and TCI.
• Healthcare or hospital industry experience.
• Certified Leave Management Specialist (CLMS) or a workers' compensation professional designation.
