Overview
Helio Health is on a mission to promote recovery from the effects of substance use and mental health disorders and other behavioral health issues. To support the mission of Helio Health, the Accountant will provide accounting and financial analysis, including, but not limited to, receivables, day-to-day operations of accounts payable and oversight of finance/support staff as required and reporting the results of fiscal operations. Grant related accounting will also be a primary focus. This position will work out of Helio Health's Administration building in Syracuse, NY.

Responsibilities
• Executes daily, weekly, and monthly accounting functions, coordination of systems and procedures, and the preparation of operating data and special reports including interim and year-end financial statements.
• Maintains systems of accounts, books and records of all Helio Health transactions and assets.
• Run and review AP and AR entries within the Helio Health Accounting System
• Prepare fiscal reports and provide analysis.
• Interacts with 3rd party payers and other internal and external customers.
• Provides reporting on Payroll.
• Provides other managers and departments with finance related information required by them to carry out assigned responsibilities.
• Assists in assuring protection for the assets of Helio Health through internal control, internal auditing, and assists with risk management.
• Assist with control of price bidding and assures that all accounting activities are followed according to policy with the annual audit, OASAS, and other regulatory agency rules.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or directly related study.
• A minimum of four years of progressive accounting experience, including payroll. Healthcare and/or not for profit experience preferred.
• An equivalent combination of education and work experience in accounting may be a substituted for the above.
