Salary & Compensation
*UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. Qualifications
• Non-profit leadership experience 10+ years’ experience volunteering, or working in a part-time or full-time capacity with environmental not-for-profit organizations (Required)
• Community organizing experience in SE Los Angeles A minimum of 10+ years of engagement in environmental community organizing and advocacy in SE Los Angeles (Required)
• Experience at UCLA with CDLS A minimum of 5 years of experience with UCLA and CDLS. (Preferred)
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with a wide variety of internal and external constituents. (Required)
• Skilled storyteller comfortable working in a variety of media formats. (Required)
• Understanding of how to develop, implement, and assess organizational strategy (Required)
• Ability to lead diverse teams, provide mentorship, and foster collaborative work environments. (Required)
• Skilled in organizing, prioritizing, and executing complex projects with multiple stakeholders. (Required)
• Ability to build trust and partnerships with funders, community members, and youth. (Required)
• Deep commitment to youth leadership and ability to empower young people in decision-making. (Required)
• Demonstrated supervisory skill and experience to recruit, select, train, and supervise student workers, staff/fellows. (Required)
• Interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with others of diverse cultural, social, political, and religious backgrounds and varied age, gender, and sexual orientation. (Required)

Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations
• Master's Degree in related field of study and / or equivalent experience / training (Required)
• PhD in related area and/or equivalent experience/training (Preferred)

Special Conditions for Employment
• Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.
• Live Scan Background Check: A Live Scan background check must be completed prior to the start of employment.
• Age Requirement: Candidate(s) must be 18 years or older to be eligible to be hired.
• CANRA: The position is designated as a mandatory reporter under CANRA . The employee must sign the "Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Child Abuse".
• Ability to work some evenings and/or weekends as needed. (Preferred)
• 10% ability to travel as needed
